Lab of Dr Joanna Chiu,

Our second research grant has been made to the lab of Dr Joanna Chiu, at the University of California Davis. Dr Chiu and her team are using Drosophila (fruit fly) as an animal model to study different SKS genetic variants found in human patients. Their long-term goal is to identify new drugs and therapeutic strategies to alleviate SKS symptoms. This type of research has successfully found treatment options for other genetic syndromes, and we are excited to see this research progress.
